Hi everyone! I have no idea if I will keep this up, but I thought it would be a great way to keep up with the family and watch the kids grow up no matter how far away you are. Just a real quick update, Ben is turning five next week and is having a big birthday party. Never really thought about my five year old inviting his entire class, and his afternoon friends (36 in all), but he had such a good reason. He informed me that he went to a montessori school that stressed community and what kind of member of the community would he be if he left out his friends. How to argue that??? Well, he is inviting his class (everyone who has RSVP'd is coming) and they are going to soccer world where they will run around like crazy and have a ton of fun. Katie is so excited to be going to her brother's party! The only thing that she keeps repeating is that she really wants to have cake!
Ben is also thrilled to be a lunch kid at school. Minus a few embarassing bathroom incidents all is going well. He loves having PE, music and reading buddies. He has made some good friends and is really excited to go each morning.
Katie is also loving school. She has moved up to a big kid classroom and has a male teacher who is just wonderful. She is really settling in and loving her new class. Her teachers say she is an incredibly hard worker and very focused, which strikes me as odd because she is very scatter brained at home. Apparently, each day when she goes out on the playground, she runs to Ben and he gives her a big hug and kiss and asks her to play with him and the big boys! Too cute. Whenever I see them out there they are holding hands and running together. One of those rare moments when you think you are doing something right as a mom.
Katie is also doing singing and ballet. GO figure, the girl can sing. I am not sure where she gets it from since Brian and I both shatter window panes when we sing, but she is actually pretty good. She has her first music recital in december and if I figure out how to upload video I will try to post it.
Other than that I will upload a few pictures and some more later! We will see how this works out!
